GALVANISING THE GROUP PROTECTION TEAM WITH A TEAM BONDING DAY TO REMEMBER

CHALLENGE

Legal & General's Group Protection team came together for the first time since Lockdown for a team bonding exercise and with the aim of setting an agenda for collectively pushing ahead with renewed energy and focus in 2022. We were tasked with coming up with a theme and branding for the day that was both individual but also on brand with the wider Legal & General brand identity.

SOLUTION

We presented three concepts to the Group Protection team and the clear favourite was our 'Together as One' idea with a graphic arrangement of squares revealing a '1' in the negative space. The key component in all this was to bring the team members themselves to the fore – we proposed filming and photographing and making them integral to all the brand materials and videos.

RESULTS

We delivered all the branded materials for the event along with several videos. We filmed the event, interviewed employees and provided social posts as the day unfolded. We were also responsible for encouraging attendees to engage with props we created and to post on social media. The feedback was unanimously positive with post-event ratings of over 4.6 out of 5 from the attendees.

The branding was integral to the success of the day both visually and conceptually – the idea of coming together to galvanise the team was fundamentally important. The Olympin Colin Jackson, really helped set the tone of the day with his positivity and wise words about the importance of positivity and working together.

MAKING A SPLASH ON SOCIAL MEDIA

We created large scale back-drops, ‘selfie frames’ and message boards that were placed throughout the conference for people to engage with and post on social media.

BRANDING THAT PROVED BOTH DISTINCTIVE AND FLEXIBLE

The 'Together as One' branding proved very eye-catching and was applied seamlessly across a variety of printed materials and proved very effective for animation across the various videos and presentations that we created.

BRINGING PEOPLE TO THE CENTRE OF THE BRANDING

A central aspect of the branding of the event was to bring the Group Protection team to the fore. We proposed a day’s shoot at the Group protection office in Hove and both filmed staff interacting with message boards and photographed the team going about their everyday business. All of this day’s footage then formed the bedrock of the introductory video we created and all the pull-up banners, presentations, and social posts etc. It meant that the event felt both current and genuinely focused on the team members themselves.

CREATING MAXIMUM CONTENT ON THE DAY ITSELF

We filmed the entire event from the initial gathering, the keynote speeches and the team building exercises. We interviewed dozens of attendees about their roles and how they see L&G Group protection helping claimants. We provided social posts as the day unfolded. It all combined to content on the day itself and follow-up material that could be used over the following months to get maximum output and value from the day.

INSPIRATION FROM A PROVEN CHAMPION AND BROADCASTER

Colin Jackson, the world-champion hurdler and record holder, proved a big hit with his uplifting and impassioned talk on what you can achieve of you are positive and driven. it set the tone for the whole day and really proved a catalyst for a pervading sense of positivity and purpose for the day in general.
