The CFA Institute is one of the premier events in the financial services sector calendar. The CFA really wanted to ‘up their game’ in 2019 in regards to the overall branding of the event and therefore put out the job for several agencies to pitch their ideas. This year's theme was ‘Disruption: The New Reality in Investment Management’.
We proposed a typographic solution which was, unanimously, an immediate hit with the CFA Insitute conference team, as were our wide-ranging ideas and proposals for engagement activity – including design and build of the event Forum centrepiece and stage designs for the huge Plenary room.
Over 1,800 delegates visited the event and the feedback was unequivocally positive, especially across social media. We successfully delivered a truly comprehensive range of materials including banners, digital advertising, experiential and engagement activity. A tweet from a CFA representative summed it up best: “the best one yet!”
Prior to the event, we created a variety of promotional materials including flyers, press ads, emails and online gifs. The centrepiece of the promotional campaign was the video above, which was promoted heavily in the lead-up to the conference.
We created several animations for the event at the Prince Regent entrance to ExCeL including the main 12 metre entrance screen, below. We wanted to capture the essence of the Disruption branding in these animations. So, rather than give them a slick finish, we purposely gave them a slightly disjointed feel.
