How we’ve branded the British Insurance Awards 2016

The most hotly-contested awards in the insurance sector, The British Insurance Awards has evolved into the most prestigious Insurance Awards event over the last 22 years. However, it is quite rapidly developing a reputation as not just the most prestigious awards ceremony, but also the most out-and-out enjoyable one!

We took on the task of branding the event way back in 2011 with a real sense of purpose to make each year genuinely distinctive by creating a specific theme. We’ve always relished the challenge each year for something different.

This has seen us progress from acrobats, through a shimmering theme, to ‘Nights of Champions’, a pop art inspired 20th anniversary of the awards up to last year’s event theme, ‘Top Dogs’, which was quite probably the most memorable event yet as it really took the branding up a level by getting the guests to become part of it by sporting sunglasses that tied in with the Reservoir Dogs/Top Dogs theme. In a related move, a bit like a Tarantino movie, it became all about the music with a 70s disco explosion.

So, where to go this year?

With the success of last year, it seemed a great idea to do more of the same and make it about the music with even more fun in the room getting attendees involved. We have designed a brief to make the evening feel like a music festival, not just an awards event. Taking a leaf out of the legion of festival posters, we’ve pitched our tent in the festival campsite, broken out the cider, got our festive gear on and created ‘BIA Fest’ with a series of typographic ads, entry packs and a website that really conveys a festival vibe, all tied up with the tagline ‘Will you be headlining?’

So, if you’ve not booked your tickets, we think there are still some available (camping tickets have sold out though). Make sure you don’t miss a great night of fun, music, some dancing and, not forgetting of course, the industry’s most cherished awards. In which regard, closing date for entries is 5pm, on Wednesday 16th, so don’t miss out!
