Here is our September edition of our Agency Life blog, taking you behind the scenes of our work and life at brandformula. Our team has been all around the world this month and also taken part in a multitude of charity events. Get ready to explore how we engage, inspire, and thrive!
September has been an extremely busy month for the team visiting places around the world! We had Neil, Lily, Matt Smith, Rob, Kirsty and Matt Beasley in Monte Carlo for the 65th Rendez-Vous de Septembre, spending several brilliant days meeting with clients, soaking in the sunshine, and catching up with friends.
Martin flew to Canada for RIMS Canada Conference, diving deep into the world of risk management, connecting with industry leaders, and gaining a collection of tools and knowledge to face future challenges head-on. Read more about Martin’s trip to RIMS Canada here.
A solo adventure saw Oskar in Edinburgh for the 2023 IUMI Conference. Not only did Oskar spend his few days hearing insights on marine and transport insurance and connecting with other thought leaders in the market… he also tried and enjoyed the potato mash food spot that many of us in the office recommended!
September was World Alzheimer’s Month. To support this, some of the team took part in a ‘Memory Walk’, organised by the Social Committee to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society. Our Spitalfields office is located with many great walking routes, so we thought walking around London would be a good challenge and a way to raise awareness.
A hot topic that is often mentioned within brandformula is understanding what social media platform is right for our clients. In a recent blog, we took a look at some of the pros and cons of each platform, from a B2B perspective for financial services brands and how it’s reported that social media almost always plays a role in decision making. Read our blog here.
As a company, we are always working towards and looking for ways for the team to thrive. However, on a more personal level, there’s some new additions… Rob, our Business Development Director welcomed piglets and baby goats to his farm family! Rob’s pet dwarf dairy goats recently had kids and Ginger the micropig gave birth to a litter of eight adorable piglets. Rob spends his weekdays in the City supporting clients across the (re)insurance ecosystem and weekends in the countryside rearing an ever-increasing collection of animals at the ‘microholding’. For some of the cutest photos you’ll see today, head over to Rob’s Instagram here.
Craig has taken on a new career opportunity – he’s a coach for his son’s newly formed Under 8s team. For Craig, good leadership isn’t being loud and telling everyone what to do. It’s about setting clear expectations and encouraging them to find their own way there. If he can play any sort of role to put the team on that path, to help them play with a smile, to go home with a sense of achievement that they played as a team and tried their hardest then it could end up being one of his greatest achievements. Good luck with the coaching journey Craig!
At the end of September, the team supported the world’s biggest coffee morning for Macmillan. There are a lot of great bakers who are always surprising us with new ideas and yummy creations. This year for Macmillan, we had cinnamon apple blondies and Declan’s famous brownies. We’re already looking forward to next year for the friendly competition of who’s bake is the best.
And there you have it – a glimpse into life at brandformula. Stay tuned for monthly updates…
