The International Day of Charity, which falls on the 5th September each year, is a global initiative aimed at promoting humanitarianism, solidarity, and compassion. It's a day to recognise the incredible work of charities and individuals around the world who are making a positive difference in the lives of others.

At brandformula, we are committed to making a meaningful impact and inspiring others to do the same, which is why we are celebrating this International Day of Charity by highlighting the incredible endeavours of our team. Let’s take a look at some of our favourite things they’ve done for charity!

Declan's Arctic Circle Adventure:

One of our Director’s, Declan, conquered a 350km cycling journey through Norway, braving the Arctic Circle to raise awareness for Parkinson's Disease (PD). Joining him were 20 other courageous individuals, 13 of whom live with the condition. He was moved by how the cyclists with Parkinson's are embracing what life offers them now, and always living in the present without dwelling on their condition.

Georgia’s Leap of Faith:

Georgia, Senior Digital Marketing Executive, fearlessly faced a 10,000 feet drop out of a plane to raise money for Macmillan. Well done, Georgia!

Richard’s Veterans’ Lottery Support:

Senior Designer Richard from Black Pear Creative is a keen member of the Veterans’ Lottery, a lottery which was established in 2016 as a funding source to help members of the UK armed forces and veterans who are in need. He loves that even if you don’t win, the money goes into charities and interesting projects which would not exist without it. Although Richard gives his winnings back to the charity, he has pre-warned us that if he ever wins the big prize he won’t be returning to the office!!

Michelle’s 2,000 Squat Challenge:

Accounts Assistant Michelle pushed her limits by completing an astounding 2,000 squats in just one month! Her dedication to Great Ormond Street Hospital, a cause close to her heart, is truly inspiring.

Mollie’s Marathon:

Another one of our Senior Digital Marketing Executive, Mollie, ran the Brighton Marathon for Guide Dogs UK, a cause that holds personal significance due to her grandad's experience with glaucoma.  She managed to raise a massive £650 for the charity and the guide dogs waiting at the finish line for a meet and greet made the run slightly more bearable!

Leila’s Festival Volunteering:

Account Manager Leyla used her brandformula volunteering day to lend a hand at Glastonbury. She worked at one of the festival bars, and the wages she earned were donated to Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM). This charity is dedicated to suicide prevention, providing support to those struggling with various challenges.
A big shoutout to Leyla for her fantastic contribution to such a worthy cause - well done!

Craig’s Football Partnership:

Craig, our Chief Growth Officer, coaches his son’s Under 9 team at Redhill Youth FC. They have partnered with a charity called Giving in The Gambia to donate old kits and footballs to some of the poorest and most deprived children in that part of the world. Craig’s team has collected football boots and old kit to send out with other supplies collected across all age groups.

Kirsty’s Mental Health Support:

Full Circle Communication’s Director, Kirsty, volunteers for a charity called My Black Dog – a mental health charity that offers online, peer-to-peer mental health support to people via a web-based chat system. The charity exists to provide interim confidential support to those who are struggling with anything from anxiety and depression to loneliness while they await NHS help. Twice a week, Kirsty grabs herself a can of Pepsi Max and a bar of chocolate and does a three-hour shift, where she speaks to people from all walks of life. Each shift is supported by around 6 volunteers who are ready to talk to anyone in need, and Kirsty loves the community behind the scenes. Having worked with My Black Dog for over two years, Kirsty finds volunteering incredibly fulfilling and is very proud to be using her own experiences with mental health to help others.

Well done to the team at brandformula for their spectacular efforts in helping those in need. Their huge range of charitable deeds just goes to show that there are endless opportunities to give back!
